A typical flow control valve has an opening whose size can be controlled to regulate fluid flow. Several different technologies can be employed. These include gate, diaphragm, needle and butterfly valves. All are used to the same end, hydraulic fluid control in a wide variety of systems. Most are made of brass, steel, zinc or synthetics.
