Description

The 3D|CORE™ PET GR foam core is a green foam made from post-consumer plastics. The closed-cell, thermoplastic and recyclable high-performance rigid foam has excellent technical properties. It is suitable for the construction of high-strength, lightweight components for high loads. The integrated honeycomb structure creates more flexibility and simplifies handling in production. The foam core follows the guidelines for the circular economy and improves the human environment. Properties of 3D|CORE™ PET GR: - Available densities: 75 kg/m³, 95 kg/m³, 200 kg/m³ - 100% recycled material - Excellent fatigue resistance - Excellent long-term thermal stability up to 100°C - Very high processing temperature up to 180°C - Closed-cell foam (no water absorption, no reexpansion, no outgassing) - Long lasting-no rotting - Easy processing with all known resin systems and processes - Very high chemical resistance - Homogenous connection of all components - Excellent surface adhesion (connection between the surfaces and core) - Highly consistent material properties - Good thermal insulation - Integrated flowing aid - Low resin absorption Areas of application for 3D|CORE™ PET GR: - Automotive: underbody panelling, bonnet, seats, battery housing, side elements, trunk, spoiler - Railway & Transport: ceiling elements, interior, flooring, door modules, partition walls, roof, underbody panelling, front mask, seats - Winding applications: Tubes, tanks, sleeves, rollers - Wind energy: rotor blades, nacelles, spinner - Industry: machine housing Suitable processes: - Hand laminate - Vacuum infusion - RTM - Resin Transfer Moulding (VARTM, LRTM and HP-RTM) - Wet pressing - Autoclave - Prepreg - SMC
