3P’s pistons rings, bands or back-up rings are used in lubricated or dry-running conditions, where wear rate, friction and sealing are the most important performances. The anti-extrusion rings are used in dynamic and static sealings, in hydraulic systems. They reduce the seal creep PTFE is well-known for its friction coefficient among the lowest ones. It allows also a wide temperature range (from -200°C to 260 °C) and long-life performance as it is chemically resistant and shows low ageing. To enhance performance, 3P offers high performance thermoplastics, like PEEK, and has developed a full range of compounds with PTFE or thermoplastic matrices.
