The brown corundum for industry is manufactured from bauxite. calcined, in electric arc furnace. The prepared blocks of bauxite are subjected to temperatures around 2100 ºC in presence of some reducer and flux. The blocks have been removed from the are crushed and then screened.
Incorporating titanium oxide during the fusion, corundum of greater hardness and tenacity can be obtained. These last ones are very useful in blasting or shot blasting applications, both in suction and in pressure.
This abrasive grain has no free silica and the contents in Al2 O3 can vary in more or less depending on the other components.
This material can be used as for sandblasting than for shot blasting both in suction as well as in pressure. It has no free silica and does not contain carcinogenic or toxic components.
There may be slight variations of one or more components. The material is manufactured under Fepa standard. This is also manufacturers under military standard for the aeronautical industry.
Total quality control is available by inspecting: particle size, shape of the material, etc. grain, composition and resistance.
Supplied in 25 kg multi-layer paper bags. The pallets are 1.000 Kg. It is recommended to store on pallets, in a dry place, protected from rain and humidity.
