warehouse roller rack system also know as Gravity rack systems are high density pallet storage systems that utilize depth to increase capacity. This system uses a slightly inclined rail with rollers that allow pallets to move easily along the sloped plane. These systems are also called gravity flow or dynamic flow systems. It's a FIFO storage system that can utilization the capacity up to 90%.
Gravity flow pallet rack usually consist of upright frame, beam, rail, dolly, buffer etc. Load capacity usually within 1000kg / pallet.Compare with selective pallet racking, push back racking can save space up to 50%, but uses the same fork lifter and same aisle.
Pallets are placed on dolly set on inclined support rails.
The lift truck driver will position the first pallet to be loaded into the push back system on the top dolly.
The second pallet to be stored when be brought to the push back lane by the fork truckdriver.
They will use the second pallet on the forktruck to push the first pallet already on a pushback dolly into the system, then place the second pallet onto the second dolly.
This will be repeated with subsequent load to a maximum of four pallets deep per lane.
