The R.A.D. (Restricted Access Drill) is a all-hydraulic drill specifically designed for easy access in restricted spaces. It is capable of fitting through a standard 36” doorway and under 8’ ceilings with a travel position of 39-1/2” wide and 33-1/2” with tracks retracted. It includes a three section mast designed for 11 ft., 7 ft., and 3 ft. head stroke.
What separates the R.A.D.?
Capable of traveling through 36" doorway.
Capable of drilling under 8 ft. clearance.
Various options and configurations.
Standard Equipment
Power Unit –
(4) cylinder diesel, air-cooled, 62 HP @ 2,600 rpm with 12-volt electric start.
Feed –
11 ft. [3.35 m] stroke and capable of 11,000 pounds [4989 kg] upward thrust and 11,000 pounds [4989 kg] pull down.
Drill Head -
3-5/8" [9.2 cm] spindle bore, accepts all rod sizes up to "HW" and casing sizes up to "N". Eight (8) infinitely variable speeds in forward and reverse. Hydraulically operated "slide type" drill head provides clearance for tool handling. Drill head speeds are from zero to maximum RPM in each gear range.
Drill Head Speeds / Torque -
1st Gear (0-120 RPM @ 3,028 ft./lbs. torque)
2nd Gear (0-252 RPM @ 1,452 ft./lbs. torque)
3rd Gear (0-456 RPM @ 788 ft./lbs. torque)
4th Gear (0-750 RPM @ 458 ft./lbs. torque)
Mast -
Welded structural steel supports and guides the rotation and feed components. Hydraulically positioned then rigidly held in position for drilling (from 45° to 90°), hydraulically lowered to the travel position for moving from hole to hole. Includes a crown block with sheaves. Mast capable of drilling under 8 ft. [2.44 m] clearance.
