Description

Aeronaut's new plunge blade tool is now available for bayonet mount cutting systems. A plunge blade tool works almost like a conventional drag blade or tangential knife except that the actual blade and clamp inside the tool is the only part to be raised and lowered while cutting. The depth stop remains in contact with the material being cut. Plunge blade tools have many applications including magnetic sheets, corrugated cardboard, rubber and fine detail designs. The secret to the plunging blade tool's utility comes in three parts: • Because just the blade is lifted and lowered on corners, cutting is very fast. • The inline, adjustable depth setting via a knob mounted on top of the head allows quick and very accurate depth setting. • The plunge function allows the blade to lift without lifting the while tool, eliminating the possibility of materials moving if they're not flat or if they catch on a lifting tool. Minimising the amount of blade penetration in a table's cutting surface will increase the life of the surface and limiting how much of the blade is exposed improves accuracy by limiting blade flex on cuts. The plunge blade tool has been designed to take several profiles of standard, off the shelf blades as well as more rigid and sharper carbide blades. The blade can be removed and replaced with good accuracy in a few seconds. Thanks to the modular nature of Aeronaut machines, the plunge blade tool can easily be interchanged with or run alongside our full range of tools, including reciprocating blade cutters, rotary blade cutters, creasing wheels and perforating tools.
