AGY produces and sells a range of high-performance fibers which have been developed to meet the needs of customers in a range of different markets and applications. These specific formulations include the following products: S-1 HM Glass® rovings are available as single ended rovings, these fibers, developed as a next generation of S-Glass product, are designed to give the highest mechanical properties while meeting the economic needs for the reinforcement market. These fibers which are used in a number of industrial applications come with sizing systems suitable for either polyester or epoxy based thermoset resins. S-3 UHM® Glass fiber performance was developed using AGY’s advanced Modular Direct Melt (MDM) production technology and utilizes a proprietary formulation of S-Glass raw materials to produce this unique glass fiber. With the highest tensile modulus glass fiber commercially available 99 GPa (14,359 ksi), it is an improvement of approximately 40% over E-Glass.
