Product Details
Our FCC-3 dipole antenna provides an accurate standard for precise EMI and site attenuation measurements (per OET-55 and ANSI C63.5). The FCC-3 is manufactured per the FCC balun design and individually calibrated. This dipole antenna consists of a matching balun, two telescoping elements, balun clamp for mounting, and a tape measure to adjust the element lengths.
The antenna balun is constructed per the W. K. Roberts design as specified in the ANSI C63.5 standard and consists of a folded balun that converts the 70-ohm (at resonance) to 50-ohm impedance. This balun design exhibits a low VSWR, low balun loss and can handle power up to 90 watts.
The FCC-3 tuned dipole antenna has two quarter wavelength elements for a total of λ/2 and must be adjusted to the desired frequency. The theoretical element length is (300/FMHz /2), however we provide slightly different lengths that are tuned to the maximum Return loss. The calibration tables provide a list of the frequency points and the optimized element length.
