These fast, self-inflating booms have been designed for use both in ports and calm waters and on open water. They are composed of PVC-coated polyester, are resistant to hydrocarbons and the float chambers contain mechanical selfassembly systems without metal components; the lack of valves for inflation and deflation limits the number of operators required for deployment. The self-inflating booms have internal channels to facilitate cooling of the air inside them with sea water, thus preventing problems with pressure on hot and sunny days; the sealed float chambers they are composed of makes them particularly suitable for wave motion and can be fully opened for cleaning. They are light and manageable, high-visibility ORANGE barriers, which can be stowed on practical rolls.
