The patented ExpanTek® Model HPS Hydrostatic Pressure System uses a method of tube expansion that prefills a tube with water and pressurizes the tube past its yield point, thereby expanding the tube. This technique is used extensively for baseboard heater assemblies and air-conditioning coil production when bonding tubes to fin assemblies. The hydro-expansion process can be used with a variety of tube materials including: copper, stainless steel, CuNi, and titanium.
The ExpanTek® Hydrostatic Pressure System along with ExpanTek® Tube Expansion Tools provide fast, repeatable tube expansion for working pressures up to 30,000 psi (2,068 bar). The tooling grips and seals the tube, even at extreme pressures. To save time, the operator can quickly change tool sizes in less than five seconds without a wrench using NuQuip® Quick Disconnects.
The ExpanTek® Model HPS Hydrostatic Pressure System and
Airmo Tooling are suitable for expansion and testing according to military, nuclear, automotive, and aerospace specifications such as; API, ASTM, ASME, ISO, DIN, and BS.
