Description
The SU80 is an up-rated version of the SW80 Contactor designed for Interrupted and Uninterrupted loads. The device is suitable for switching Resistive, Capacitive and Inductive loads. Typical applications include, but are not limited to, electric motors, hydraulic power packs, winches, speed controllers, UPS and Power Distribution Systems.
An Interrupted current occurs when a switch is used to open and close on load. Frequent switching of load current results in an increase in contact resistance, which can affect the thermal current rating of the contactor.
An Uninterrupted current occurs when a switch has no or limited load switching requirements thereby maintaining a lower contact resistance.
