ALPHASHAFT centre surface winders with one or two shafts have short web paths for high productivity and control of narrow webs, typically used for paper, nonwovens, foams and pressure sensitive tapes. The short web path from the slitting knives to the rewinds is common to all styles for accurate roll alignment. The surface drive rolls control the web tension precisely up to the rewinds for controlled rewinding tension up to the rewinds, even when winding narrow slit rolls.
