LVDT Sensors Linear Variable Differential Transformer Sensors are commonly used transducers for measuring linear displacement of an object. Altheris offers DC as well as AC operating LVDT’s (Linear Variable Differential Transformers). The DC operating sensors have signal conditioning electronics built into the LVDT and they require no calibration or special signal conditioning. The units can be powered with uni- or bi-polar DC voltages and have scaled DC voltage, current or digital outputs. Ranges from 0.050" to up to 10.000". The AC operating LVDT’s contain no electronics and are therefore the first choice when small size, hostile environments or low cost are required. They offer the maximum amount of flexibility for outputs and scaling when used in conjunction with signal conditioners. Ranges from 0.005” up to 10.000”.
