Description

Amar has been a pioneer, largest manufacturer, and exporter of continuous flow reactors in India for many years. Amar Flow reactors are used by various industries like fine & speciality chemicals, bulk drugs (API) pharmaceuticals, dyes, intermediates, paints, agrochemicals, etc. to convert their batch chemistries to continuous flow. A static mixer is a device used for mixing fluids without moving parts, relying on a series of fixed geometrical elements within a tube to continuously blend, disperse, and react fluids as they flow through, ensuring consistent and efficient mixing. Advantages of static mixers include low energy consumption (no moving parts), high mixing efficiency, consistent product quality, easy maintenance, scalability, and the ability to handle a wide range of viscosities and flow rates. The Amar tubular reactor (plug flow reactor) models (Staticflo) mentioned below allow customers to combine proven static mixer technology with Tubular or plug flow reactors. This is especially useful for reactions that are two-phase and involve phase separation. For such reactions typically stirred tanks have been used in legacy plants but they are bulky, expensive, and prone to maintenance. Tubular reactors with static mixers can provide equivalent reactions but at a much lower cost. Static mixers enhance mass transfer by creating a homogeneous mixing environment and increasing the interfacial area between reactants, leading to improved reaction kinetics and efficiency. However, they can introduce a pressure drop due to the flow resistance offered by the mixer's elements, which needs to be balanced against the mixing efficiency for optimal design and operation.
