The freely programmable HMI / control system AMR-OP83 ranks among the smallest control systems manufactured by the AMiT company. Despite its size, AMR-OP83 offers complete control functionality comparable to other control systems (PLC). At first glance, the device appears to be merely a 3.2“ touchscreen graphic HMI, while a second glance will reveal the Ethernet interface and the RS485 interface (without GI). The device, however, offers much more – it is a freely programmable control system with a built-in web server, SD card slot and another, optional communication interface that can be customised via the EM-xx series modules (RS232, RS485, CAN etc.). This compact graphic controller further supports WebSocket and MQTT (both as a publisher and a subscriber), making it a viable choice when considering IoT (Internet of Things) projects. In terms of Ethernet, AMR-OP83 supports EAP/TLS secure communication.
The device is powered from a standard 24 V DC power supply, and it mounts into the switchboard cabinet front panel. This mounting also takes advantage of the front panel protection rating of IP65. AMR-OP83 can operate in a wide range of operation temperatures – from -20 to 70 °C.
The control system shines the most in control projects for small-scale implementations or local control of equipment. AMR-OP83 is best paired with the remote I/O modules of the AMRIO series. It can also be used as an affordable colour HMI for any of the AMiT’s control systems or any control system supporting MODBUS TCP or MODBUS RTU protocols. The graphic design of the UI, as well as the programme itself, can be created and adjusted in DetStudio IDE.
