AMSE offers a complete range of instruments for polymer testing according to Charpy and Izod methods.
The behavior of materials undergoing the action of an impulse provides very useful data for the determination of mechanical resistance at specified working and stress conditions knowing the specimen geometry allows the calculation of materials resilience.
The instruments are compliant with international reference standards below: ISO 179, ISO 180, ASTM D 256 and other equivalent.
Operation mode
- It is based on measurement of the angle run by the striker after the impact carried out with Charpy and Izod methods.
- The difference between the angle of release (starting position) and the angle return (the arrival) is proportional to the energy absorbed by the specimen during the impact, less friction.
- The absorbed energy is then displayed, by Touch Screen so the operator note it down.
Instruments description
XJJD/XJUD
Model XJJD/XJUD has built in Touch Screnn that allows the operator to set the testing parameters and to calibrate the unit in order to off-set energies wasted in friction related phenomena. The unit will then display the results once the test is completed.
Multi impact
Multi Impact tester is an innovative instrument developed to perform both Charpy and Izod test without changing the instrument configuration (“all in one” vice and striker design). It is equipped with on board 8” touch screen to input test parameters and results reading. Safety shield with microswitch allows to enable the test only when the doors are closed and the striker not accessible.
