Combined thermoclimatic and mechanical stress (vibration) tests are typically performed in sectors at the forefront of technological research. Our company, always attentive to technological innovation, has developed a series of chambers that, although maintaining the same performances as standard climatic chambers, are also equipped with special interfaces for all types of vibrators produced by major international manufacturers. In this way, fatigue stress can be easily combined with thermal stress. A dedicated software controls and manages combined tests through simple operations by the user. Leading companies in the aerospace, automotive, electronic and telecommunication fields have been using these chambers successfully for their testing needs.
This type of screening is typically performed to ensure product compliance with "Total Quality" dictates and to fulfil two major requirements:
➜ Improve product reliability
➜ Reduce warranty costs
ESS consists in the application of such stimuli as supply and thermal cycles alternated or combined with vibration tests aimed at highlighting those defects that cannot normally be detected by standard inspection or functional tests: contamination, cold or dry soldering, intermittent contacts, bad diffusion, weak connections, insufficient insulation.
The application of ESS techniques is mainly aimed at the ëprecipitationí of latent manufacturing defects and "infantile mortality" through fast thermal cycles (up to 30° C/min. in our ESS chambers with mechanical thermoregulation system, and up to 60° C/min. when using LN2).
