Ansaldo Energia Turbogenerators are designed for reliability. They represent the perfect match for different types of Gas and Steam turbines, meeting the requirements of the prime movers and optimizing the conversion of the primary energy into mechanical energy. Ansaldo Energia Turbogenerators offering encompasses different technologies, depending on the required power output – from air cooling to hydrogen cooling, and up to hydrogen/water cooling. All models can also operate as Synchronous Condensers. All models take advantage of Ansaldo Energia’s well known flexibility in matching Clients’ needs with tailored solutions. Ansaldo Energia hydrogen-/water-cooled generators (WT, THAR series), with water-cooled stators and hydrogen-cooled rotors, are top-level products for very high-power turbines. Thanks to their high efficiency and quality, they ensure optimum and reliable operation for any turbine requirement – as witnessed by more than 60 installed units corresponding to >30 GVA. They comply with all standards for safe operation in presence with hydrogen gas. Dedicated auxiliary systems condition and circulate de-ionized water and hydrogen for cooling the system and keeping the shaft seals supplied with oil. Static excitation units provide fast-response adaptation of the air-gap flux to load conditions. This allows the generator to provide stable power when operating on a network, and to keep the generator voltage constant during no-load operation or servicing.
