Description

Nanofiltration (NF) can be used for a wide range of applications in the dairy and plant-based industries, e.g. demineralization of whey, milk, plant-based extract and permeate from UF of milk, whey or plant-based extract. NF membranes are similar to RO membranes, though with a slightly more open structure, allowing passage of small monovalent ions like Sodium, Potassium and Chloride, while rejecting larger, polyvalent ions, and most organic compounds. This means that NF combines concentration (like RO) and partial demineralization. Like RO, the main driving force is high pressure (up to 40 bar) NF is a highly sustainable, versatile, and proven process designed to increase the production capacity and allows for higher yields and less waste by valorization of sub product and recovery of water. Advantages Proven components and system design Proven membranes for NF dairy and plant-based applications Optimized performance and long membrane lifetime In-line UF, NF, RO polisher High-quality engineering, standardized system Optimized utility consumption Pre-assembled in our manufacturing facility Operator and maintenance friendly Key Applications Whey UF permeate Skim milk Plant-based beverages
