The Arcojet® PG 051P is used in the treatment of smaller plastic components, in particular plastic profiles in extrusion lines, injection-moulded components as well as cups and tubes prior to adhesive joining and printing. Treatment speeds of up to around 15 m/min can be accommodated. The Arcojet unit comprises a freely radiating electrode that does not require an earthed counter electrode.
The generator creates a high-voltage arc discharge, which is transferred via an air stream from the electrode onto the surface to be treated. The plasma created in this manner is used to activate the plastic surfaces so that printing ink, paints, adhesives etc are able to adhere.
Different head designs are available depending on the installation constraints.
The unit can be used in a cyclical control mode or manually. Since it is recommended in the pre-treatment with plasma to keep the distance to the substrate surface constant, we can supply guide rollers with a special insulated handle for manual operation.
The control electronics of the Arcojet are of a modular design, that is, the individual component groups of the generator are plug-in units. The connections for the signal inputs and outputs are terminated at plug connections (industrial standard) to enable control by an external system.
