AQ-B398 busbar protection IED comes in two versions, either as a centralized busbar protection unit or as main unit for distributed busbar protection applications. In a distributed busbar protection applications the unit communicates with bay units using IEC 61850/9 intercommunication standard. The bay unit can be any of AQ 300 IEDs with incorporated busbar protection bay unit functionality. The total trip time of less than 20ms for busbar faults is provided.
