Alnico magnets are mainly composed of alloys of Aluminum, Nickel, and Cobalt. They are manufactured through either casting or sintering process.
Alnico offers high magnetic field
Alnico has relative high Residual Induction upto 11,000 Gauss and produce high magnetic field around it.
Alnico has a low coercive force
The Hc of Alnico drops in the range of 500 - 1,800 Oe, so that it is easily demagnetized if not handled with care. In order to get a good work point of Alnico, the ratio of length to diameter should be 5:1 or larger.
Alnico is hard and brittle
Alnico can be machined by Grinding and EDM only.
