The ARTIFEX ENGINEERING Wollaston Polarizers are made from two birefringent material prisms, cemented together. The symmetrical ordinary and extraordinary beams deviation about the input beam axis offers twice the deviation when compared with Rochon. The separation angle exhibits chromatic dispersion, and these angles can be specifically designed. They are made out of a-BBO, calcite, YVO4, quartz, with the wavelengths from 190 to 3,500 nm (a-BBO), 350 to 2,300 nm (calcite), 400 to 4,000 nm (YVO4) and from 20 to 2,300 nm (quartz). The extinction ration for calcite and quartz polarizers is below 5x10-5, and below 5x10-6 for a-BBO and YVO4. They also feature a <1 arc Min parallelism, 20-10 surface quality, < 3 arc minutes beam deviation, λ/4 at 633 nm wavefront distortion etc. Standard maximum power is 1 W/cm2 (optionally 20 or 40 W/cm2). They are MgF2 coated, with mount out of black anodized aluminum.
