Revolving Multi-Rake Bar Screens are multi-raked chain operated screens which are generally used as coarse and fine screens for medium and large sized water and wastewater treatment plants. Revolving Multi-Rake Bar Screens are mainly consisting of bar screens, frame, dead plate and discharge chute which is equipped with multi-rakes and a counter wiper. By the help of multi-rakes very high screenings discharge capacity and low head loss is achieved. Also since the rakes are directly connected to the chain (i.e. no additional supporting structure) the installation height above level is very low even in very deep channels.
Operation Principle:
The bar screens are cleaned frequently with multi-rakes which are connected to an endless conveyor chain operating between two sprockets. The rakes are positioned in such a manner that while some are mowing up between the bars to clean the screenings, others are descending towards the bottom of the channel. While descending the rakes are far from the bars and after turning around the bottom sprocket they go up between the bars to clean the clogged screen. The collected screenings are either removed to a container or a transporter by the help of counter wiper for further processing.
