The calibratable Scintillator Probe 6150AD-b/E is a portable probe which, in conjunction with a dose rate meter 6150AD, is used to measure photon radiation (gamma and X-rays) in the quantity of H*(10).
A cylindrical three by three inch organic scintillator is used as the detector. Special advantages of the scintillator probe are the large energy range and high sensitivity. The scintillator probe is therefore particularly suitable for fast and accurate measurements of small radiation levels, down to the natural ambient radiation and even below it. The probe also owes its name to this property: The “b” in 6150AD-b stands for “background”, the English term for the ambient radiation. In German, this is sometimes referred to in German as “natürlicher Untergrund”. Further areas of application are e.g. scattered radiation measurements and measurements on picture tubes or other sources of X-rays.
The 6150AD-b/E scintillator probe only works with the 6150AD5/E and 6150AD6/E versions of the dose rate meter. The power supply comes from the 6150AD.
A coiled probe cable (item number 700.1.18) and the removable carrying strap (item number 187.5) are included in the delivery of the scintillator probe but not with the 6150AD.
