Description

The 6150AD is used to monitor the local dose rate, e.g. in a room with the help of the gamma alarm station. The warning threshold of the 6150AD is not used as the dose rate warning threshold, but a threshold that can be set on the gamma alarm station using the BCD switch. This is achieved by the microprocessor of the gamma alarm station reading the serial interface of the 6150AD and comparing the dose rate displayed by the 6150AD with the warning threshold set on the station. If the warning threshold is exceeded, a very clear, perceptible visual and acoustic alarm is triggered and an alarm contact (relay) is actuated, with the aid of which external devices can react to the alarm. If required, the external loudspeaker 859.2-40 can also be connected (optional accessory). It should be noted that the 6150AD is not approved for calibration in this operating mode because the radiation does not fall on the front of the 6150AD in the preferred direction but on the top with the LCD. So it is not a calibratable, stationary ODL system. If necessary, a probe can be used instead of the 6150AD. For this purpose, a probe socket is available on the side of the gamma alarm station. All probe types are supported with the exception of the 6150AD-t (/E). The gamma alarm station is battery-backed and is fully functional for at least six days without a power supply if there is no alarm. BWith battery operation, a pending alarm is not reported by the flashing light, as this has a very high power consumption, but is only indicated via the speaker. A pending permanent alarm reduces the battery life to approx. 20 hours.
