The RF transmitter and receiver are compact, high performance and cost effective for use in multi GHz analog communication over single mode optical fiber. Both transmitter and receiver utilize Avago linear amplifiers inside the optical packages to optimize RF performance and reduce necessary boardspace. The main target markets for this transmitter and receiver are satellite TV distribution in multi-dwelling units and in-building or transportation system antenna remoting. Antenna remoting is pushed by the need for mobile data access in areas where normal over the air signals are not available (tunnels, subway stations, etc.).
