The new ATEX approved rotary limit switch FRX is designed to control movement of industrial machinery in potentially explosive areas.
An explosive atmosphere is a mixture of air and gases, vapors, fumes or combustible powders, where combustion quickly propagates (explosion) after ignition at atmospheric pressure.
The limit switch operates as an auxiliary controller of electrical motors through a power interface, such as a contactor or PLC.
The housing offers space for 2, 3 or 4 snap action switches with 1NO/1NC change-over contacts. All NC contacts are positive opening contacts for safety functions.
The ATEX- and IECEx-approved rotary limit switch FRX can be used with a maximum speed of 800 rotations per minute.
Revolution ratios range from 1:15 to 1:1578 (standard ratios 1:20, 1:25, 1:50, 1:75, 1:100) and non standard revolution ratios are available on request. A worm gear and a helical toothed gear combined with one or more pairs of straight toothed gears are used for the transmission of the movement from the input shaft to the output shaft.Revolution ratios result from the use of different combinations of gear wheels between the input shaft and the output shaft, which is connected to the cams.
