Airlift fermenters (ALR) are the most widely used bioreactor equipment. This type of reactor has the advantages of simple structure, no bacteria contamination, high efficiency of dissolved oxygen, and low energy consumption.
1) Widely used for large-scale production of single-cell proteins. However, it is not suitable for culture fluids with high viscosity or a large amount of solids. The equipment can be widely used in the aerobic fermentation process of antibiotics, amino acids, enzyme preparations, vitamins, organic acids, etc. It is used in the domestic production of glutamic acid, antibiotics, xanthan gum, glucoamylase, and citric acid. In terms of environmental protection, it can be used for sewage treatment.
2) The gas supply efficiency is high, and the ventilation in the air riser can be greater than the air intake of the bubble reactor, which is conducive to aerobic reactions.
3) Compared with the paddle reactor with stirring paddle, the energy consumption is lower, and compared with the mechanical stirring fermenter, it can save 70%-80% of electricity and reduce the cost.
Stainless steel cylinder combines with glass partly. It uses a large area of highly refractory glass to observe material easily. Magnetic force stirrer without axes sealing. There is no possibility to leak out the bacteria. The view is spacious. The agitation system is hanged up. There is no thimble at the bottom.
