Bansbach’s Main Type K Systems showcase locking functions that actuate in oil chambers, separate from the gas via floating pistons. Since there is only oil between the pistons and the guide pieces, the locking force remains constant (depending on the spring’s mechanical strength) whenever forces are applied on the locked springs in extension directions. Whenever forces are applied in the compression directions, they remain constant until the forces of the floating pistons are surpassed.
