The Bausch SM_H2 Socket Module is a V.92 (56K) PSTN modem based on Conexant Technology. This Module is ideal for embedded medical, metering and alarm applications since it offers very low operating power requirements, a small board space, a worldwide compliance and a 3 kV dielectric withstanding voltage. Specifically for alarm applications it supports the SIA alarm protocol and contact ID. The product can be provisioned for applications ranging from system monitoring and reporting to answering inbound calls with voice responses (for example SIA protocol for alarm equipment with voice listen-in applications–speakerphone . Industrial temperature ranges (-40°- 80°) are also available on special request.
The modem is available in both Serial TTL format and external modem format with serial RS-232/RS-485 (2 and 4 wire) interface. The new external modems are available in DIN-RAIL (DinBox PSTN 485 SIA), DESKTOP (Proxima V.92 SIA) and DIN 43861-2 (InduBox PSTN SIA) format, capable operating under Windows, Linux or Mac environments. The new Bausch modem family is Safety, Emissions, and Telco compliant to meet most medical, alarm and metering device requirements.
