The 6798 load pin is constructed from 17-4PH stainless steel and is a newly designed tube-like load transducer. The strain gauges are bonded on the inner surface of the tube-like pin before being wired to make the Wheatstone circuit. The tubular shape ensures a hermetic seal which makes the 6798 load pin capable of operating in harsh environments with its exceptional protection against the environment, to IP68.
In comparison with the 5798 load pins, the 6798 series uses the bending beam as opposed to the shear beam working principle. This offers increased resistance against the effect of eccentric loading. Operating like the BCM 5798 load pins, when the 6798 load pins are installed for carrying a load force, they act like double-ended load transducers. They can be used wherever a double-ended bolt or pin is needed to continually assess the load force on its middle position.
