Smoothing reactors, also known as AC reactors, are used in AC circuit to be in series with current converters. Their function is to restrain the AC side current and voltage impulse of current converters. Smoothing reactors are significant major equipment in AC converter stations. BPEG is the national standards drafting organization for EHV dry-type smoothing reactors. We’ve accomplished developing and manufacturing of 12 types of dry-type air-core reactors including smoothing, shunt, series, filtering, current-limiting, testing, and damping reactors. These reactors are of varied specifications of voltage levels, and have all passed product certification of China Electric Power Research Institute. They’ve been proved to be stable in operation and superior to national standards overall. Technical Characteristics include: 1/ The reactor coils are wet-wired using high-insulation transposition wire and epoxy resin, and integrally formed by high-temperature solidification. They’re also equipped with large independent rain-proof denoising devices. 2/ Adoption of air-cooling has the advantages of low loss, low noise, high strength, convenient assembly, easy maintenance, great degree of linearity, etc. Structural Characteristics include: 1/ Coils – consist of transposition wire and epoxy resin. 2/Rain-proof Denoising Device – Satisfies coil heat radiation, as well as rain-proof and denoising requirements. 3/ Platform – Made of stainless steel, and increase the overall anti-seismic level of smoothing reactors. 4/ Supporting Insulator – Support the coil and insulated to the earth. 5/ Lightning Arrester – Shunt connected to two ends of the smoothing reactor to protect the coil.
