Static Var Generator (SVG) is a reactive power regulation device based on voltage source inverter and capable of smooth regulation from inductive reactive power to capacitive reactive power to the following operation principles: with the self-commutation bridge circuit directly in parallel connection with the grid via the reactor, by appropriate regulating the phase and amplitude of output voltage on AC side of the bridge circuit or by directly controlling the output current on AC side, the required reactive current will be generated in the current, thus achieving reactive compensation.
BPEG series high-voltage SVG adopts the chained construction which allows for small loss, and it is of carrier phase shift technology which can achieve active filter without increasing the IGBT switching frequency. It is equipped with no transformer, thus occupying small floor area and facilitating maintenance and operation.
