This expansion joint is made of two articulated cardan bellows joined by means of an intermediate sleeve. These expansion joints, in addition to allowing angular rotation along any plane, can absorb large lateral movements, depending upon the length of the central sleeve.
Characteristics and Properties
Angular movements along all planes.
Large lateral movements.
Retains the force of the pressure.
Does not require fixed anchoring in the system.
Bellows protected from torsional movements.
Reduced forces on the pipe system.
Requires a minimum number of guides.
Can be designed to support the weight of the pipes.
The set of articulations and pivots for the two bellows must be designed to support the force of the pressure.
