The NEPHELOstar Plus is a microplate nephelometer designed for measuring forward scattered light for the purpose of detecting insoluble particles in a liquid sample. A laser beam is directed through the solution so that the nephelometer can detect scattered light at up to an 80-degree angle. This module can be up to 30 times more sensitive than a traditional transmission reader when it comes to measuring the reduction in direct light going through a sample well by means of optical density. The beam diameter and intensity is adjustable via user-friendly software, and doing so allows the light scatter measurement in turbid or colored solutions. Also, the flexible diameter of the beam allows measurement in 6 to 384-well microplate format. The heating plates are temperature regulated and provide up to 45-degrees C of uniform incubation. Also included are high-precision injectors and multi-user control and data analysis software.
