The chipper canter is positioned before the band saw headrig to cut the first slab from the log into chips.
The canter occupies a more and more important place in the modern sawmill to achieve higher levels of productivity. It can also be coupled with the band saw headrig which utilizes the double toothed blade (bicoupe) to increase production even higher with excellent cut quality.
