BROSA offers high-quality ATEX sensors for force measurement in areas subject to explosion hazards. All sensor types can be prepared in an intrinsically safe Ex i version with an integrated 4-20 mA amplifier. The sensors most commonly used in offshore cranes, such as force measuring pins, tension load cells and angle sensors, are also available in a pressure-resistant Ex d version. This solution allows for easy integration into the overall system without additional safety barriers being required.
In addition, certain types of sensors are certified according to IECEx.
There are various applications in which our sensors for areas subject to explosion hazards are used:
Offshore and marine cranes
•Harbor cranes
•Wind monitoring
•Chemical industry
•Petrochemistry
By default, our ATEX sensors offer additional features in addition to a customized design:
Integrated amplifier (4-20mA, CANopen, optional Safety, PROFINET, optional PROFIsafe)
•Design capable of sustained operation
•Temperature compensated from -40 ... + 80 °C
•High EMC resistance of 200 V/m
•No zero drift, i.e. no re-calibration required
•Consistent accuracy over the entire temperature range
•Design for tensile and / or compressive forces
•Load limit 150% and breaking load 300% of the nominal load
•Security classification PL c / SIL 1
•Protection class IP66 / IP67 in accordance with DIN EN 60529
•Calibration of reproduced installation situation including test report
