Hot oil boilers are used in heating systems, especially instead of steam boilers, to reach much higher temperatures at much lower pressures. As per the steam table for conventional water and steam boilers, high steam temperatures require equally high pressures. With a pressureless hot oil boiler, temperatures of up to 300°C may be achieved by using standard heat transfer oils. For temperatures above 300°C degrees, it can be achieved by using special heat transfer oils.
