System Function Inside the sensor a spring–mass damping system is formed by a piezoceramic disc and a seismicmass. Mechanical vibrations which are applied to this system will exert an alternating force via theseismic mass onto the ceramic disc. Based on the piezoelectric effect the force generates a chargesignal which is proportional to the applied acceleration. An integrated charge amplifier converts thecharge signal into a measurable voltage signal characterized by a specific sensitivity.
