Description

STRUCTURE-BORNE NOISE SENSOR A press-on sensor designed to measure structure-borne noise in a test-stand environment BKS03 is a press-on sensor designed to provide high-quality measurements without using adhesive or mounting fixtures. The sensor consists of an accelerometer mounted on a silicon ball and mounting post. In the test stand, the mounting post is connected to an actuator, which presses the accelerometer against the unit under test. A small steel ring is attached to the accelerometer’s contact surface and electrically insulated to prevent malfunction. The lightweight (1.7 g) design and relatively large contact area of the accelerometer combine with the silicon ball’s absorption of vibration to minimize resonance. USE SCENARIOS Production testing for engines or transmissions On-line production testing Outgoing quality control Weight: 1.7 g Frequency response: 15 kHz Sensitivity: 25 mV/g (external ICP® amplifier) Resistant to transmission oil
