Bruker Corporation (Nasdaq: BRKR) today announced the launch of the new BEAM – the first dedicated single-point spectrometer unleashing the full power of FT-NIR spectroscopy, taking in-process control for solid samples to the next level.
Unlike common single-point analyzers based on filter or diode-array technology, the BEAM uses FT-NIR technology based on Bruker’s RockSolidTM interferometer to ensure it can perform the same applications with the same precision, accuracy, and long-term stability you would expect from a high-end lab-based system.
Despite its advanced technology, the BEAM is compact and lightweight, making it easy to install it with the dedicated mounting brackets or Tri-clamp flanges in any setting and orientation at pipelines, and chutes or over conveyor belts. With its dual-lamp operation mode, uninterrupted system availability is ensured, and the service intervals are extended for optimized productivity and efficiency.
Designed for on-the-spot quality control, the BEAM is IP65 protected, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. With future-proof connectivity, the BEAM is ready to integrate with your existing process control systems and adapt to future technological advancements.
Dr. Holger Lutz, Business Unit Manager Chemistry, Pharma & Process of Bruker Optics stated: "The new BEAM is a milestone in the way that process analysis of solid samples will be carried out in the future. The BEAM will master applications that were out of reach for most conventional single point analyzers by utilizing the full NIR spectral range that is only available in FT-NIR systems.
