The Buckleys saturated Copper/Copper Sulphate (Cu/CuSO4) reference electrode is designed for taking accurate measurements of corrosion potentials on buried steel structures.
Robustly constructed, the cell has a large ceramic tip for good ground contact and comes complete with protective cover. The cell has been designed for ease of use – the addition of distilled water is all that is required to make it functional.
The contents can be seen through the acrylic body and the cell can easily be dismantled to allow the copper rod to be cleaned and the copper sulphate solution to be changed when necessary. It is essential to maintain a saturated copper sulphate solution for accurate potentials to be recorded.
The reference electrode can be used to determine the effectiveness of the onshore cathodic protection systems. It is not suitable for marine use.
