Even conventional hydraulic lift tables can be fully recessed in the ground. All that is needed is a hole of the right size for the corresponding lifting platform.
This procedure has a marked disadvantage compared with underfloor lift tables, namely the gap between the platform and floor.
Underfloor lift tables are recessed in the floor so that there is no gap between the surrounding floor and the platform. The platform of the underfloor lift table is also mounted exactly at the level of the floor. This creates an even level. This is particularly advantageous when industrial trucks must repeatedly drive over the platform.
