The SQUAREPACK is a new machine design achieved by valorization of more than 30 years experience and the very latest electronic and automation technology. The SQUAREPACK is placed after the Sabatier in-line stretch former (or any other expander) to achieve the required operations (flanging, seaming, etc...) for the manufacturing of irregular shaped can bodies (prismatic or oblong). It enables to achieve successively the flanging and the seaming operations of one side of the body and the flanging and seaming of the other side. The bodies are transferred in vertical position at a constant height and the seaming is stationary performed immediately after the squeeze flanging operation (The squeeze flanging process being the only process to obtain a good flange quality on irregular shaped cans). Each station is fitted with single head. The seaming heads are clutch free which excludes the vulnerable part and ensures a very long operating life to the head
