Self-extinguishing medium-voltage dry-type transformers, with coils cast in epoxy resin, for moisture-prone and polluted environments. Cores made with cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets. Optional protective enclosures available for outdoor applications. In CIC’s medium-voltage Cast Resin Dry Type Transformers (CRT), the cores are made with high-permeability cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets (CRGO) to keep the transformers compact and to effectively reduce no-load losses. The coils are cast in epoxy resin (Class F insulation) and are therefore self-extinguishing, maintenance-free, non-toxic, and are protected against dust and humidity. Examples of suitable applications include public constructions, hospitals, educational institutes, factories, and commercial buildings. To ensure product quality, safety, and durability, all units undergo pre-delivery testing by an electricity laboratory accredited by TAF (a member of the ILAC) according to ISO/IEC 17025. • Cores—made with high-permeability cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets (CRGO)—and coils are firmly secured and supported with high-strength components to ensure excellent mechanical strength and to attenuate the transmission of vibrations. • Low-loss and low-noise performance. • Coils, made with high-conductivity wires and insulation materials of excellent thermal resistance, are cast in epoxy resin—hence the self-extinguishing property, excellent insulation, and protection against pollution and humidity.
