The braking torque in circuit 1 is generated by the pressure of several compression springs acting against the armature disc to create a frictional connection between the two friction linings of the rotor, the armature disk and the flange plate or machine wall. The braking torque in circuit 2 is generated between the friction linings of the second rotor, the armature disk and the coil carrier of circuit 1.
