Our KM series, worm and wheel gear motor, is manufactured from an injected aluminium box. The cubic gearcase of our worm gear motor allows the adaptation by anyone of its three mechanized faces.
As the monobloc housing supports by itself the stresses between the worm and the wheel, the resistance of the whole gearbox is guaranteed. This is the reason that we keep suitable rigidity standards for our worm gear motor, although the service factor is lower with regard to cast-iron gears.
Structural features
The worm gear consists of three fundamental parts : housing, worm and wheel.
For all frame sizes, housings are made from injected aluminium, which lend this series an optimum performance when used in applications requiring low torque, and an efficiency similar to the one of cast-iron products.
The worm is made of casehardened quenched steel, with ground-on teeth sides, and the wheel is made of DIN (GZ-CuSn 12 Ni2) centricast bronze, melted on steel. Due to the quality of these two parts mechanical features, this series offers excellent performance and low noise levels.
Supplied with hollow shaft. Available with cylindrical output shaft.
With its other features, as NITRILE-BUTADIENE rubber ring seals ñ according to DIN 3760 regulation -, high quality bearings, and an aluminium finish, this product is the best choice within this productís family in the gears market.
Backdriving
It is wise to pay attention to this factor when the gear reducer output shaft is driven instead of being a driver.
