The TURBODRY® series is manufactured by Comber Process Technology, and is a vacuum vertical pan dryer that is intended for a broad range of products, which includes the difficult and heat sensitive. It also has a very easy cleaning and inspection capability, which has a high efficiency and versatile with short drying times of the unit. The unit has a minimum product hold-up after discharging, which has an easy operation and validation. It has a very efficient and even mixing of the entire product mass, which has a high possible heat exchange rate. It also has an agitator that is integrated with vertical movement, which permits the agitation of the total product volume. The Turbodry agitated vacuum pan dryer has proven to be excellent for the drying of sensitive, pasty and other “diffcult” products that pass through a highly viscous stage during the drying process. The dryers have proven to be particularly suited for the drying of heat sensitive products as well as products with fragile crystal structure and thus sensitive to shear forces.
